Annites claimed 2nd Runner-up at U-13 SLSCA Teams Chess Tournament
St. Anne's College Under-13 Chess team claimed the Second Runner-up in the 2023 (2024) Team Chess Championship Division B Tournament organized by the Sri Lanka Schools Chess Association.
Our players garnered 4 wins and 1 draw, earning a total of 9 Match Points and 22.5 Game Points.
Chess teams from 36 schools across the island took part in this competition.

Annites claimed a win over Maliyadeva College with an impressive 31 points lead
Annites outdid Maliyadeva College to register a win at the Under 20 Basketball Tournament during the 2023 Provincial School Games. The score was recorded as 89 - 58 giving Annites an impressive 31 points lead.

Annites claimed the All Island School Drama and Theatre Festival Provincial Title
Drama and Theatre students of St. Anne's College emerged as the winners of the North Western Province contest of the 2023 All Island School Drama and Theatre Festival, securing major awards including Best Direction, Best Music Composition, Best Dramatic Arrangement, and a complete sweep in Best Stage Performance, claiming all 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places.
They competed in the Sanskrit Drama category with their performance of 'Mṛcchakaṭika', a play by Śūdraka. The event was organized by the Ministry of Education. We wish our team all the success as they prepare to compete at the national level of this event.

Annites collected 6 medals at the 2023 Sri Lanka School Senior Karate Championship
St. Anne's College Karate athletes never give up on bringing glory to the College. They recently registered fine wins at the 2023 Sri Lanka School Senior Karate Championships. In this nationwide contest, they score victories in every category they compete in by earning a total of 6 medals.

The competition was held at the Sugathadasa Indoor Stadium on February 19 and 20, 2023.
Trivia: Both Shanuka and Gagana won Bronze individually in the same event (Under 17 Kata). -
Annites emerged as first runner-up at All Island Music and Dance Competition organized by MOE
Western Music Students of St. Anne's College have won First Runner-up place in the All Island Western Music and Dance Competition organized by the Ministry of Education. The Chamber Group was the musical item performed by our team.

The unstoppable Annites Karate team shone once again by finishing as Runner-up after bagging 6 medals at the 2022 North Western Province Karate Championships held at Wayamba University Indoor Stadium.

Annites won 2 Gold and 2 Silver medals at the 2023 North Western Provincial School Games in Weightlifting.

Annites made gains in Provincial Swimming Championship
The North Western Provincial Schools Swimming Championship, held in conjunction with the 2023 National Schools Games, concluded with St. Anne's College swimming athletes securing a total of 9 awards, comprising of 2 first places, 4 second places, and 3 third places.
The event was organized by the Education Ministry of the North Western Province and held at the Sir. Albert F Peiris Sports Complex in Wennappuwa.

Annites shone at 2023 Provincial Chess Tournament
St. Anne's College Chess Teams garnered the Second Runner-up and First Runner-up places in the under 17 and under 20 categories, respectively, at the North Western Province Chess Tournament during the 2023 National School Games.
The competition was organized by the Provincial Department of Education, North Western Province, and held at Ibbagamuwa Central College. -

Annites' Legends won the Legend Trophy
Annites' Legends won the 2024 Legend Trophy defeating Devans' Legends in the final which took place at the Welagedara Stadium today (January 27).
Old Boys from St. Anne's College, Maliyadeva College, Sir John Kothalawala College, and Maliyadeva Model School participated in this competition. The game was played in a 10-overs-per-side format. -
