Persevering Imraz Fayroze crowned Champion at 2022 Katukurunda Circuit Race
Annite alumnus Imraz Fayroze cruised to victory at the 2022 Katukurunda Circuit Race, garnering yet another shield for his ever-expanding trophy cabinet.
The competition was held earlier this month at the Katukurunda Air Force Station and was organized by Sri Lanka Automobile Sports (SLAS), the governing body for motorsport in Sri Lanka. Imraz competed under SL-A Mini 7 Class.
During the selection phase, Imraz encountered an unexpected incident where his car was overturned. Each player is allocated 8 rounds during this phase and grid position for the final is awarded based on the fastest time recorded by the players in all of their laps. While all other players enjoyed the luxury of 8 rounds, Imraz was only able to partake in one round as a result of this incident. However, the one round he took was good enough for him to secure second place on the grid. Why do you want eight rounds when you can do it in one round? He barely missed out on the first slot on the grid.
Undeterred, Imraz was able to fix his vehicle within 24 hours and made it to the finals. The tough incident he faced only made him stronger and even more resolved to win, being a testament to the true Annites spirit of Possumus. And courage like this deserves only one outcome, victory and that's exactly what he got in the end.
If you take a good look at his nifty car, you can see the 27-year-old proudly carries the College crest in every race he takes. Well, that's certainly one way to bring Annites glory.
And this is not the first time that Imraz got hold of this Championship trophy, he has already repeated it so many times in the past; more on that to come in another report, as it's bit too much to bring all in one.
This year our splendid Annites never fell short of bringing glory and Imraz's victory adds a fitting end as we approach the end of the year.You may also like to read:

Proud Annite Pruthivi qualified for 6th South Asian Karate Championship
A momentous occasion for this young Annite and the College as Pruthivi Sri Vitharana qualified to represent Sri Lanka at the 6th South Asian Karate Championship.
He will compete in the Kata age group 14-15. The contests will take place at Sugathadasa Indoor Stadium, Colombo, Sri Lanka on November 27 and 28 while the latter being the day Pruthivi has his matches.
His road to the 2022 South Asian Karate Championship journey concluded in a flourish at the National Karate Selection held towards the end of October this year at the Torrington Indoor Stadium, where he registered comprehensive wins in all three rounds he faced.
You made us all proud and it's your time to make the country proud. Go Pruthivi! -

Receiving Big from Sri Lanka Cricket
For being included in Under-19 Division 1, the St. Anne's College Cricket Team received a bowling machine worth 1.2 million, along with a pitch cover and boundary ropes from Sri Lanka Cricket.

Reflecting the achievements of junior athletes in the 2023 Junior Schools Karate Championship
As the 2023 (2024) Senior Schools Karate Championship is currently underway, it's a good time to reflect on the achievements of our junior athletes in the previously held 2023 Junior Schools Karate Championship, where our junior players achieved the Runner-up position by securing a total of 11 medals including 4 Gold, 3 Silver, and 4 Bronze.

It's the 3rd win of the season for St. Anne's College Rugby Team in the 2023 Dialog Schools Rugby League as they register their victory in today's match (July 21) versus St. Thomas' College, Matale.

Having secured the 5th position last year, they managed to move up one spot in the latest rankings. The event was organized by the National Cadet Corps (NCC) Sri Lanka and took place at the NCC Training Center in Rantambe.
This achievement adds to their success, having claimed the Air Force Challenge Trophy as winners of the Inter School Drill and Band Competition earlier this year. As the College Western Band continues to shine, a special reception was held at the College late last month in recognition of their impressive work.
We, the Annites family, wholeheartedly wish our Western Cadet Band to be able to reach even greater heights!

St. Anne's Cadets ranked 4th in the All Island Cadet Band Competition
St. Anne's College's Western Cadet Band rose to 4th in rank out of 42 participants at the 2023 All Island Western Cadet Band Competition.
Bands representing all 9 provinces took part in this competition, which was organized by the National Cadet Corps (NCC) Sri Lanka and held at the NCC Training Center in Rantambe. Last year, our College band claimed 5th place, and this year they were able to move up one rank further. The event began on September 18, 2023, and concluded yesterday (September 24th).

St. Anne's College Basketball Team is the Provincial Champions!
It is a victorious day for the St. Anne's College basketball team as they emerged as champions of the Under 20 Basketball Tournament of the 2023 Provincial School Games. They claimed the title after besting St. Joseph Vaz College 66 to 59 in today's final match.

St. Anne's College Chess Teams began the New Year by registering wins this past weekend
During the 2022 SLSCA North Western Province Team Chess Championship, our Under 09 and 11 teams end up taking Second Runner-up places while the Under 15 team finishes as First Runner-up.
The tournament was organized by the Sri Lanka Schools' Chess Association and was held on the 7th and 8th of January at Central College, Kuliyapitiya.
These victories came with the Under 09 Team earning 17 Game Points and the Under 11 and 15 Teams earning 20.5 Points each. With these gains, the teams selected for Division A.
Our players have picked up where they left off last year and we hope they will carry on the winning spirit throughout the year. -

St. Anne's College received National Productivity Awards
??St. Anne's College is honored to receive National Productivity Awards after becoming ?Second Runner-up in the All Island 1AB Schools category.
The competition was organized by the National Productivity Secretariat of the Ministry of Labour and Foreign Employment. The contest began in 2020 and concluded with the awards ceremony which took place yesterday (December 15, 2022) at Temple Trees.
We express our utmost ?gratitude to Reverend Father Principal Chanadana Hapuarachchi, whose charismatic leadership brought us this glory, and the dedicated and hard-working ??staff; and also congratulate all our bright and elegant past and present ??students of the College.
On the shoulders of the achievements, St. Anne's College will continue the journey! -
St. Anne's College triumphed at the 2023 Inter School Drill and Band Competition
It is with great pleasure that we report the St. Anne's College Western Cadet Band has been crowned champion by claiming the Commander of the Air Force Challenge Trophy at the 2023 Inter School Drill and Band Competition organized by the Sri Lanka Air Force.
The final took place today (June 21) at Sri Lanka Air Force Base, Katunayake, where the Annites emerged victorious over Vidyarathna University College, Horana.
The band earned their place in the competition after being selected to represent the top 10 teams in last year's All Island Western Cadet Band Competition, held in Rantambe Cadet Training Center and was organized by National Cadet Corps (NCC).
We extend our heartfelt congratulations to our students and everyone involved in contributing to yet another remarkable achievement that adds to the Annite legacy of success. -
St. Anne's College won Gold and Bronze at 2022 All Island School Games - Karate
Annites Karate athletes continue their impressive winning streak with two triumphing performances at 2022 All Island School Games - Karate.
Pruthivi Sri Vitharana won the Gold Medal in Kata Under 16, while our Kata Under 20 team comprising Pruthivi Sri Vitharana, Gagana Thathsara Gallage and Shanuka Idumsara Alahakoon won the Bronze Medal. -
St. Anne's Junior Karate Team claimed Runner-up
St. Anne's College Karate athletes continue to shine as they claimed Runner-up in the 2023 All Island Junior School Karate Championship.
The competition took place at Sugathadasa Indoor Stadium on November 14 and was organized by the Sri Lanka School Karate-do Association in collaboration with the Ministry of Education.
We extend congratulations to our Junior Karate Team, along with their Teacher in-Charge, Mr. Dammika Dissanayaka (on the right), and Coach, Mr. Manjula Vitharana (in the middle).

St. Anne's vs St. Joseph Vaz: Annites gained 1st innings honor
Annites took the first-innings honor over St. Joseph Vaz College with their thrilling performances in both batting and bowling.
St. Anne's College bowled out St. Joseph Vaz Team for 218 in the 1st innings. Annites then amassed a total of 358 on the strength of a top-notch century by Mahima Kotuwila and contributions from his teammates. Chamith Sasenjana and Adithya Nirvan were two other Annites who passed fifties. Mahima made 115 in his innings while Chamith fell 14 runs short of his century.
The bowling department also did their fair share which could restrict Joseph's batsmen to 218. During the cause, Manaan Muzammil claimed a five wicket haul.
The encounter took place at the 2022(2023) Two-Day Under 19 Inter-school Cricket Tournament - Traditional Matches.
