Dr. Jupiter Moonemalle is someone who needs no introduction within the St. Anne's College family. His dedication to our cherished alma mater spanned his entire lifetime, marked by active and enthusiastic involvement. As a former President of the Old Boys' Association, he embodied the true Annite spirit.
Dr. Moonemalle was a distinguished alumnus and the second Medical Doctor to emerge from our College. His contributions to the field of medicine were marked by honor and commitments to improving the lives of others. His contributions to the wider community didn't stop there as he tirelessly used his gifted intellect to address various social issues through enlightening awareness programs.
Among his many exceptional qualities and achievements, Dr. Moonemalle's humility and down-to-earth nature despite his elevated status truly set him apart. His life was firmly grounded in his faith, and his way of living and conduct earned praise even from spiritual figures of different faiths.
Yesterday, Dr. Moonemalle was called to his heavenly abode. In diverse faiths, we say, may his soul Rest in Peace in heaven; may he attain the Supreme Blessing of Nibbana. While our Annite family mourns his loss deeply, his memory will forever remain in our hearts and minds, an inspiration for generations to come.

We are deeply saddened by the sudden and tragic loss of Aircraft Engineer and Flying Officer Peshan Warnasooriya from the Sri Lanka Air Force (SLAF), who was an alumnus of St. Anne's College.
The tragic incident occurred when the trainer aircraft carrying Peshan crashed shortly after takeoff from the Sri Lanka Air Force Academy in China Bay, Eastern Province. Also on board was Wing Commander Tharindu Herath, an alumnus of our neighboring Maliyadeva College, who faced the same fate as Peshan.
He was an old boy from the 2015 batch and joined the Sri Lanka Air Force just 2 years after leaving the College. He also completed his higher education at the General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University.
Peshan, as an Air Force officer, soared the skies above to keep us safe on the ground. His memory will forever remain in our hearts, just as the vast sky above.
May the brave souls of our dear Peshan Warnasooriya and Tharindu Herath from Maliyadeva Rest in Peace and attain the Supreme Bliss of Nibbana. Our thoughts and prayers are with the families and loved ones of both as we offer our final tributes.
