Heroes are not born when things are easy but when things are quite difficult. Today, we are celebrating the life and legacy of a hero who stepped in when things seemed challenging and oversaw a pivotal era in our College's history. He taught us to believe in ourselves and not to give up whatever the circumstance is. This sums up the true Annites spirit of Possumus.
As a fair and kind leader and mentor, he treated everyone with dignity and worked hard to understand the students and gave them the right opportunities to shine while solving the problems they faced. He broadened the horizon for our boys far beyond academia to open up a whole host of opportunities in extracurricular activities. He kept little time to himself and was visibly active all over the College. His recurring walks beginning well before the morning chimes and continuing well into the afternoon trying to connect with students and teachers were an obvious sight still remembered today.
It's often easy to take things for granted, but it takes a person with great vision and actions to make the things we take for granted a reality. The tenure of Rev. Bro. Denzil Mendis holds a special place in our journey as a College to get us to where we are today.
It's been 10 years, but it almost felt like yesterday. You may have gone to a better place, but the positive impact you had on our College as our beloved mentor and on society as a messenger of God is immortal and your legacy will live on.
