Chandana Disanayake and Jagath Herath, the newly appointed District Secretaries of Kurunegala and Kegalle, respectively, were classmates at St. Anne's College. Annite alumnus, Assistant Superintendent of Police Fredrick Wootler, has been appointed as the Acting Police Media Spokesman of the Sri Lanka Police.
Mr. Wootler holds an LL.B. (Hons) degree in Law from Buckinghamshire New University (UK) and an M.A. in Human Rights from the University of Colombo. Additionally, he has earned an Advanced Diploma in Human Resource Management from the National Institute of Business Management (NIBM) and serves as a visiting lecturer on human rights.
With over 34 years of service in the Sri Lanka Police, he has also been shortlisted for a United Nations P3 position as a UN Police Officer. He has served as a police advisor in East Timor and South Sudan on three separate occasions.
Mr. Wootler is an executive committee member of the College's Colombo Union. We at St. Anne’s College extend our warmest congratulations to him on his appointment as the Acting Police Media Spokesman.

Annite alumnus Charles Perera will represent the Sri Lankan team in the inaugural IMC Over-70s World Cup, which will be held in England from July 28 to August 11, 2024.
International Masters Cricket (IMC) organizes global competitions for senior players over the age of 40. They are hosting four World Cups for different age groups: Over-40s, Over-50s, Over-60s, and Over-70s.
Seven teams, including Australia, Canada, England, India, Wales, and Sri Lanka, will participate in the first Over-70s World Cup.
Perera has been playing masters cricket for the Canberra Ceylinese Cricket Club (CCCC) for the past 17 years. He attended St. Anne's College from 1960 to 1968. It is an honor to see him representing Sri Lanka in the inaugural Over-70s World Cup this July, and we extend him our best wishes.

Kalinga Jayasinghe, an alumnus of St. Anne's College and an Attorney at Law, has taken on the role of Deputy Inspector General of Police for the Jaffna District. He officially assumed his duties today (on January 29.)
