Annite alumnus Charles Perera will represent the Sri Lankan team in the inaugural IMC Over-70s World Cup, which will be held in England from July 28 to August 11, 2024.
International Masters Cricket (IMC) organizes global competitions for senior players over the age of 40. They are hosting four World Cups for different age groups: Over-40s, Over-50s, Over-60s, and Over-70s.
Seven teams, including Australia, Canada, England, India, Wales, and Sri Lanka, will participate in the first Over-70s World Cup.
Perera has been playing masters cricket for the Canberra Ceylinese Cricket Club (CCCC) for the past 17 years. He attended St. Anne's College from 1960 to 1968. It is an honor to see him representing Sri Lanka in the inaugural Over-70s World Cup this July, and we extend him our best wishes.
