North Central Typhoons and Northern Gladiators with unbeaten records finished on top of the two pools at the end of the first day on the opening day of the Carlton Seven’s, organised by Sri Lanka Rugby Football Union and Carlton Sports Club that began at St. Anne’s College ground Kurunegala yesterday. The tournament will be continued today at 10 a.m.
The standings at the end of yesterday’s play is as follows.

31st Battle of the Rocks - Two-Day Encounter between Maliyadeva College and St Anne's College - Kurunegala will be played at the Welagedara Stadium on March 21 and 22. Play will commence at 10.00 a.m. on both days.
Meanwhile 19th Battle of the Rocks - Limited Overs Encounter will be played on March 23 at the same venue.

The touring Harrow School in London recorded an easy six-wicket win over St. Anne’s College Kurunegala in their friendly limited over match played at the Welagedera Stadium, Kurunegala yesterday.
Anushman Rath the leg spinner had superb figures of 4 for 21 while former South African cricketer Steve Elworthy’s son Matthew Elworthy the right arm medium paceman, took 3 for 45 to restict the St Anne’s side to 187 in 49.5 overs.
Harrow School’s two stroke makers Freddie Russel (50 with four boundaries and a six) and Daniel Steward (52 not out with seven fours) guided the tourists to reach their victory target with the loss of only four wickets in 47.2 overs.
